Fishing
We provide rods and tackle aboard the boat and have cray pots available to use as well.
Key species in Stewart Island include: Blue cod, red cod, trumpeter, rig, sevengill shark and blue moki.
Key species in Fiordland include: blue cod, groper (hapuka), tarakihi, gurnard, kahawai, kingfish, trumpeter, tuna, butterfish (green bone), moki.
If you’re hoping to catch a tuna, your best bet is to book a trip some time between January and April, although this is always dependent on the year.

Whether your booking the ultimate boys trip during the roar, or you just want to get out there and have a go, it’ll be an experience you’ll never forget.
There’s always varied terrain and we can cater to those looking for a challenging walk or a nice easy walk through the bush.
The primary hunting species in Fiordland is red deer, but if you believe the tales, you might find a moose up towards Doubtful. Stewart Island is also home to the only readily accessible population of white-tail deer in the Southern Hemisphere.
You’ll need to get a hunting permit off the DOC website and bring your own rifle.

Diving
Dive in places you have only ever dreamt about… Fiordland’s underwater environment is one of the most intriguing and unique in the world and is regarded as a bucket-list spot for divers.
The freshwater layer in Fiordland block out a lot of light forcing deeper species up to the surface. It’s never hard to find a crayfish, and you’ll even spot a fair bit of the rare black coral around as well.
We provide dive bottles, weights and spear guns, you bring the rest. Scuba divers must have a valid certification, but there’s plenty of freediving opportunities as well.

In need of an actual holiday? Spend a few days in the sounds cruising around on the extremely comfortable boat, the Jewel.
We’re able to drop you on the land so you can get out for a bush walk too if that’s your thing. Immerse yourself in New Zealand’s beautiful native bush, and if you look hard enough you may even spot some pretty rare and endangered native birds.
The waters in Fiordland are also frequented by some pretty incredible marine life. There’s a lot to see, and I can assure you, you won’t get tired of the view!
